This little bulb is used in a upstairs hallway sconce, as a evening night light. It just went out today (8-9-11) after well over a year of being turned on 10 hours a day, everyday automatically by a timer. Cost was about $12.00 at Menards at the time. They may be a little more expensive now, but do come in a 3 pak currently.

I purchased this bulb after purchasing a number of other Philips LED light bulbs and finding they were uniformly great bulbs.
This bulb although it looks non-conventional, produces beautiful bright warm white light. It is at least as bright as any 60 watt incandescent I have used. If you couldn't see the bulb, you would think it was an incandescent.
It is silent and produces no hum, unlike some other manufactures LED bulbs I have tried.
I think its only downside is it is somewhat on the expensive side. At Home Depot it was US $39. As volume goes up, I hope the price comes down.
In any case, I will definitely purchase more of them.

This LED bulb works quite well. The light is not glaring like many LED replacement bulbs. It does not have that dim "warmup time" that CFL's often exhibit. It attains full intensity as soon as it is on. The light distribution is very good. Many LED bulbs are directional and cannot be used in a lamp in which the bulb is screwed into a vertical socket as are most table lamps. This works great in a table lamp. I can't wait until the proce comes down so I can replace every bulb in the house. Photo is without flash.

Look i created light once and i liked it.. .but this bulb is AWESOME!!! however, don't touch it.. .finger oil will make this thing last less than 10 hours of burn time.

Simply stated, Plus Rite (the company and these lamps) provided excellent online sales/service and what appears to be a high value product (it is hard to evaluate how long the life will be for a +10,000 hour rated lamp).
So, I will relay the summary of my first purchase experience.
I needed ten of these lamps for a custom fixture. I found the Plus Rite lamps through a series of online search exercises. The price was very good, and the vendor promised the lamps where in stock.
I placed my order on a weekend evening, but within 24 hours I received confirmation the lamps where in stock – within 48 hours I got notice they had been shipped – and three days later a box of ten arrived.
Three of the first ten lamps where broken in transport – the lamp’s packaging was par with other manufacturers – but obviously my order of ten was not a case of lamps - so packaging probably wasn’t as good as what a case wrap would have been. Anyway, three of the lamp’s end tips had obviously received a hit and shattered.
I notified the vendor via email, didn’t hear anything back but three days later, a new package with three lamps arrived.
I have a test/standards fixture for 55w biax lamps – that is what these are – the fixture utilizes a Fulham Workhorse 5 ballast. I’ve used this test fixture for years – so I have data/comparison information from other manufacturers.
The Plus Rite 55w lamps all fired up quickly, after a 20 minute burn in produced + of specs – I love this light and enjoy making fixtures/systems – I am pleased with the lamp’s performance characteristics – and equally impressed with the Plus Rite sales/service platform.
I’ll be monitoring the life span (hours of use) on these lamps going forward and report on that in time. Based on initial results, I’ll be buying/trying several of the Plus Rite lamps in the near future – and yes my friend, I would recommend you give Plus Rite a try.

I needed a replacement bulb for my China Cabinet, I went to the Big Box Home Improvement stores and they didn't carry the bulb I needed so I decided to shop online. I found several sites that carried the bulb-but at ridiculous prices. Light Bulbs USA had the best price so I ordered 5.

This bulb is the only type i can use with my mini photo booth lights. they are decent bulbs but they break easily so I don't recommend them for use in settings where even the lamp could get bumped because the bulb will break. Also they become very hot very fast, if left on for even 5 min they become hot enough to leave blisters if touched and they take a while to cool

These bulbs are great for open fixture applications that call for a more cosmetic appearance than the usual twisty bulb, or spring lamp.
They are extremely bright. I use three in a kitchen light fixture, and they are almost too much. The terrible Sunlite globes they replace used 2W more power and were noticeably dimmer.
I recommend combining different color lamps for more natural lighting and improved color rendering.

We installed these 3 watt LED MR16s to replace some MR16 halogen lamps in our elevators that were creating too much heat.
It is nice and cool now, with excellent light output and big energy savings! This product is giving us better performance, much better value, and saving huge money on our energy costs. We think it is a real winner!

While I have waited for LED lights to grow up...I couldn't be happier in the quality of these bulbs. I have put them in my kitchen and the light is great! I also love the look the lights have in my downward cans.
